Russian ministries continue to work on a draft law obliging developers to label games by age categories. It became known that the authorities offered special conditions for the authors of educational and other developing content.

This was told by the head of the “Organization for the Development of the Video Game Industry” (RVI) Vasily Ovchinnikov in a comment to Kommersant. According to him, the bill introduces “green labeling” for games that have educational mechanics. It is assumed that this will help with the promotion of projects.

Recall that the Ministry of Economy, Roskomnadzor, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health are working on a bill that regulates the turnover of games in Russia, the media reported last October. If the bill is passed, publishers and developers will have to assign age ratings to games themselves — experts selected by Roskomnadzor will check the labeling. Also in this case, Russia will prohibit the distribution of games with information that violates the law.

According to Kommersant, the discussion of the bill with representatives of the gaming industry took place yesterday, July 27. The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Economy, among its participants were RVI, VK, Lesta Games and Game Art Pioneers.
