On dev.by published an interview with Lesta about how the separation from Wargaming affected the Belarusian development team. We share the main theses.
The current staff of Lesta in Belarus is 530 people (25% of what it was before the division, about 2 thousand employees worked in Minsk Wargaming).
Lesta plans to increase its staff. They want to hire 100 people in the Minsk office.
▫️Lesta does not want to put on stream the relocation of Russian employees to Minsk.
At the moment, the roles between the Lesta teams are distributed as follows: the “World of Tanks” are mainly engaged in Minsk, the “World of Ships” — in St. Petersburg, and Tanks Blitz – in Moscow.
The integration of the Minsk team into Lesta implies the restructuring of the first one. It is stated that the developers of World of Tanks are waiting for a significant change in production processes.
Recall that in April, Wargaming announced its withdrawal from Russia and Belarus. In the summer, she sold her business in these countries to Malik Khatazhaev, the owner of the Lesta studio, who was previously the daughter of Wargaming itself.
