Insomniac Games studio had a massive leak: on the night of December 19, hackers posted more than 1.3 million internal files of the studio online. In the merged archive, in particular, there are financial documents with information about the cost of developing a number of games.

  • According to the documents, the development of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales cost $156 million. The studio managed to sell 10.2 million copies of the game and make a profit of $104 million.
  • The budget of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 turned out to be twice as high — $315 million. Insomniac Games expects to sell 10.5 million copies of the game all the time.
  • The budget for the first part of Marvel's Spider-Man has not been disclosed, but it is known that the remaster budget was $39 million.
  • Insomniac Games has big plans for Marvel's Spider-Man 3. The studio intends to spend $385 million on creating the game, with profits expected at $170 million. For comparison, the projected profit of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is much lower — $ 75 million. The developers also plan to sell 14.5 million copies of the title.
  • The studio is going to spend $305 million on the development of Marvel's Wolverine.
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart didn't pay off. The studio spent $81 million on the development of the game, and earned $73 million on it.
  • The budget of the Ratchet & Clank PC port: Rift Apart is $2.6 million. It took five months to develop it. Insomniac Games expected to sell at least 800,000 copies of the game and make a profit of $20 million.

  • Insomniac Games has signed a contract with Marvel to create games in the X-Men universe until December 31, 2035. The games will be released on PlayStation and PC. The production budget of each title is $120 million. The marketing budget is another $30 million.

  • It also became known from the documents that Sony easily approves porting games to PC if the port budget is less than $30 million. It is enough for developers to receive confirmation by e-mail.
