Enad Global 7, the parent company of the developers, announced that Cold Iron Studios has been hit by a wave of layoffs.

According to the company's press release, the layoffs were planned. They are intended to help Cold Iron Studios reduce operational costs and ensure its stable performance in the future.
Enad Global 7 did not specify how many Cold Iron Studios employees lost their jobs, but this information leaked to the media. According to sources of Insider Gaming, as many as 19 people might have been affected. Considering that the studio reportedly employed about 50-70 people before the layoffs, its workforce has significantly decreased.
It is unknown whether the recent release of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 was the reason for the layoffs. In any case, Enad Global 7 emphasized that Cold Iron Studios will continue to develop the game and prepare a version for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Recall that the cooperative action game in the Aliens universe, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, was released on August 25, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Due to technical and some other issues, the project received a mixed reception, and as of today, its Steam version holds a "mixed" rating of 61%.
