The conflict between KRAFTON and the management of its subsidiary studio Unknown Worlds has been resolved.

The settlement was revealed in an interview with Bloomberg by the CEO of Unknown Worlds, Ted Gill. According to him, KRAFTON eventually made concessions and expressed willingness to pay the studio multimillion-dollar bonuses. Initially, the company was obligated to transfer $250 million, but now the developers will receive "significantly more."
Gill noted that all employees of Unknown Worlds will receive payouts, even those who joined the company recently. The final sum will be divided into three parts and transferred to accounts over the course of a year. Additionally, the creators of Subnautica 2 can expect further bonuses as the game develops.
Meanwhile, Gill himself will step down from his position.
"We mutually decided to part ways. A change in leadership is the best way for the studio to move forward," said Gill.
Recall that the disputes between the parties began after KRAFTON dismissed three leaders of Unknown Worlds, including Gill, a year ago. They later went to court, claiming that their dismissal was an attempt by the company to avoid paying the promised $250 million in bonuses. In March 2026, the court ordered KRAFTON to reinstate Gill and extend the deadline for the bonuses.
