The South Korean company KRAFTON reported its performance for the first half of 2024. This period has become a record for the company on several metrics.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS

  • KRAFTON's revenue was 1.37 trillion won ($1 billion), increasing by 48.3% compared to 2023. The company has never earned this much in half a year before.
  • Operating profit grew by 55% to 642.6 billion won ($469 million) — another record. Net profit rose by 74.4% to 690 billion won ($503 million).
  • Mobile games brought in the most money for the company — 902.2 billion won ($658 million, +52.1%). PC games added another 435 billion won ($317 million, +47.2%). Revenue from console games amounted to 20.3 billion won ($14.8 million, -22.9%).
  • Due to the return of the classic "Erangel" map and a collaboration with the K-pop group NewJeans, some metrics for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS jumped significantly. In particular, the number of monthly active players increased by 40% compared to last year, and the number of paying players rose by 130%.
  • For PUBG Mobile, the monthly active audience grew by the same 40%, but the paying audience increased "only" by 30%.
  • From January to August 2024, KRAFTON invested in 11 studios. This includes the acquisition of Tango Gameworks, as the company announced this morning.
