The publisher and developer of mobile games Jam City, which has Jurassic World Alive, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, and Cookie Jam in its portfolio, has conducted a new major round of layoffs. The company reduced its workforce by 10%, or approximately 85 employees.

Jam City CEO Josh Yguado cited problems in the gaming industry as the reason for the layoffs. He stated that while analysts predicted that the industry would recover in 2024 after a "challenging 2023" and start growing again, this hasn't happened.

It is also reported that some "key games" of Jam City are currently performing worse than expected.

The last time Jam City conducted major layoffs was two years ago. In August 2022, it laid off around 150-200 people.
