In January, Square Enix CEO Takashi Kiryu stated that the company would start using artificial intelligence more "aggressively" in game development. Six months later, it seems he no longer considers this such a good idea.

During a meeting with investors, Kiryu explained that while he sees huge potential in AI, he also recognizes the risks. Therefore, Square Enix decided to use various neural networks only after thorough testing. The company also intends to actively use AI exclusively in "non-creative areas" and to pay attention to public opinion.

Square Enix regularly experiments with different technologies. For example, it previously focused on blockchain.
