In August 2022, the Chinese company NetEase announced that it was buying the developers of Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. Insider Tom Henderson found out that this deal cost €100 million.

According to Henderson, it was possible to calculate the value of the transaction thanks to compensation payments that Quantic Dream employees received for their shares.

If Henderson’s data is correct, then about €50 million of the €100 million went to the head of Quantic Dream, David Cage, and his family. They owned 51% of the studio’s shares.
