Tencent has released a report for the third quarter of 2023, which ended on September 30. The Chinese giant reported that all its divisions had increased revenue.
At the end of the quarter, the revenue of the entire Tencent increased by 10%, reaching ¥154.6 billion ($21.5 billion).
At the same time, the holding's net profit fell by 5% to ¥36.8 billion ($5 billion).
Game sales in China totaled ¥32.7 billion ($4.5 billion). This is 5% more than a year ago. Growth was achieved thanks to the recent release of Valorant and Lost Ark in China, as well as consistently good performance of games like Honor of Kings.
Sales of games on the international market increased by 14% to ¥13.3 billion ($1.87 billion). The main growth drivers were PUBG Mobile, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Valorant and Triple Match 3D.
In total, these two segments accounted for 30% of Tencent's total revenue in the third quarter of 2023 - ¥46 billion ($6.37 billion).
As of September 30, 105,309 people worked at Tencent. A year ago, there were 108,836 employees.
