The analytical company InvestGame studied the situation in the gaming deals market in the second quarter of 2024. It released a report with data on private investments, M&A, and public offerings.

  • According to InvestGame's calculations, from April to June 2024, game-related companies made 166 deals totaling $4.1 billion. For comparison, in the second quarter of 2023, there were 138 deals with a total volume of $2.3 billion.
  • Most of the deals — 116 — were private investments. Their volume amounted to $1 billion (+100%).
  • M&A deals ranked second in prevalence, with 37 deals totaling $0.5 billion (-16.6%).
  • Throughout the quarter, companies listed their securities on the stock exchange 13 times. The total value of the public offerings was $2.6 billion (+116.6%).
  • The largest private investment was raised by Zentry, which received $140 million in a round led by Animoca Brands. The largest M&A transaction was the purchase of Gearbox Entertainment by Take-Two Interactive for $460 million. The largest public offering was conducted by Asmodee, amounting to $964 million.
