The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova, has launched a new initiative to regulate video games in Russia. She suggested introducing rental certificates for the games. Now they are given to films.

Lantratova said that there are games in which “children are invited to come to school and shoot other children and teachers.” The issuance of rental certificates, in her opinion, will help limit the spread of such games.

This is not the first time Lantratova has proposed stricter regulation of the Russian gaming market. In November last year, she proposed to ban games with LGBT propaganda, violence and drugs in the country, but the State Duma did not support her idea.
