The Vedomosti newspaper, citing a government representative, reports that there may be one more gaming association in Russia. She will be engaged, in particular, in the development of the export potential of the Russian games.

According to other sources of the newspaper, talks about the creation of a new association have been going on since at least November 2022. One of the main initiators is called VK, and Alexander Mikheev, product director of VK Play, is a candidate for the role of the head of the association.

It is reported that VK is trying to convince 1C Game Studios and Lesta Games to join the association. Representatives of the companies confirmed to Vedomosti that they had received an invitation, but refused to join the association. 1C Game Studios explained that the main part of the studio’s problems “cannot be solved with the help of initiatives from the outside.” Lesta Games noted that such associations should not be created by companies, but by game experts, otherwise a conflict of interest may arise.
