Analyst at Circana, Mat Piscatella, published his monthly report on the state of the U.S. gaming market. He reported that in March, the market's revenue increased, and the top 20 highest-grossing games of the month included six new titles.
Marathon
- In March, U.S. residents spent a total of $5.3 billion on video games, hardware, and accessories. This is an increase of 12% compared to the previous year.
- The sales of video games in the U.S. amounted to $4.55 billion for the month, an increase of 8%;
- Leading the monthly chart in dollar revenue was MLB: The Show 26, pushing Resident Evil Requiem to second place. Further down the chart, there were five more new entries: WWE 2K26 (third place), Marathon (fourth place), Pokémon Pokopia (fifth place), Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection (seventh place), and Crimson Desert (15th place).
- Additionally, thanks to its PC release, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach re-entered the chart at 17th place (↑148). A significant 85% of the game’s revenue in March came from its PC version.
- Sales of gaming hardware increased by 69% to $500 million. The best-selling hardware in March was the Nintendo Switch 2.
- Sales of gaming accessories reached $252 million, increasing by 5%.
