According to data from the Game Industry Layoffs portal, the scale of layoffs in the gaming industry is gradually decreasing. By their calculations, gaming companies laid off a total of 632 employees in June.

A total of 11,252 gaming professionals have lost their jobs since the beginning of the year.

Top 5 gaming companies by number of employees laid off in June:

1. Sumo Group — 250 people, including employees of the closed Timbre Games;
2. Behaviour Interactive — 95 people;
3. Gameloft — 90 people;
4. Avalanche Studios — 50 people;
5. VRChat — 50 people.

Notably, the Game Industry Layoffs data does not include all layoffs. For example, layoffs at the Chinese company Perfect World are not accounted for. According to media reports, this company alone recently laid off several hundred employees.
