Epic Games summarized 2024 for Fortnite. Among other things, it revealed that users who created their games within the battle royale received a total of $352 million in payouts from the company over the year.

According to Epic Games, most payouts were modest, but there were also significant transactions. For instance, 37 island creators received between $1-3 million each from the company, 14 creators received $3-10 million each, and seven creators received over $10 million.
Let’s recall that Epic Games began sharing revenue with island creators in Fortnite in March 2023. According to the company, players earned 11% more in 2024 than they did from March to December 2023.
Other statistics announced by Epic Games:
by the end of 2024, more than 70,000 people had created their islands in Fortnite;
- the number of user-created islands reached 198,000;
- in 2024, players visited an average of 60,000 user-created islands per day. 70% of players returned to the islands they found interesting—whether created by other players or Epic Games;
- the average daily audience of Fortnite grew by 15% over the year. The monthly and annual audiences also increased, but specific figures were not disclosed;
- in 2024, Fortnite users spent 5.23 billion hours in games created by other players within Fortnite. This was 5% more than the previous year;
- user-created islands accounted for 36.5% of all time spent playing Fortnite in 2024.
