Larian Studios' Publishing Director Michael Douse shared impressive achievements of Baldur’s Gate 3 on the social network X. He revealed that in 2024, several game metrics surpassed those from its release year.
What metrics improved for Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2024:
▫️average daily peak concurrent players — increased by 3% compared to 2023;
▫️average number of daily active players — increased by 20% compared to 2023;
▫️average daily audience on Steam Deck — increased by 61% compared to 2023.
According to Douse, Baldur’s Gate 3 became more popular thanks to the official mod support introduced in September 2024. By the end of October, players had downloaded over 50 million mods for Baldur’s Gate 3.
Additionally, Douse noted that another copy of Baldur’s Gate 3 was recently purchased in Vatican City. Last week he mentioned that two copies had been sold there, with one more on the wishlist. It seems likely that the new purchase was made by someone other than the person who had previously added Baldur’s Gate 3 to their wishlist. According to Douse, Baldur’s Gate 3 still remains on a resident's wishlist in Vatican City. However, the number of copies sold worldwide was not disclosed by Larian Studios' publishing director.
