Last year, the French spent €5.5 billion on video games, consoles and gaming PCs, according to the SELL association. They spent more only in 2020 and 2021.
Compared to 2021, the market revenue fell by 1.6%.
▪️Most of the amount came from sales of console and PC games – €2.1 billion. An increase of 6% compared to 2021. Another €1.4 billion came from mobile games.
▪️Sales of consoles and gaming PCs decreased by 10% to €1.55 billion.
▪️Accessory sales amounted to €454 million. This is 5% less in annual terms.
The top 5 most popular games for consoles and PCs in France by the number of copies sold included FIFA 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Nintendo Switch Sports.
