Time magazine published a list of the hundred most influential people in 2023. It includes Hidetaka Miyazaki, head of FromSoftware and creator of Dark Souls with Elden Ring.
Miyazaki became the second Japanese game developer who was honored to get into the top 100. The first was Shigeru Miyamoto in 2007.
The text explaining why Miyazaki was in the top of Time was written by the president of Naughty Dog studio Neil Druckmann. He noted that Miyazaki’s games evoke special feelings that you will never be able to experience when watching television.
