The final publication of 2024, where we wrap things up, express our gratitude, and, of course, wish you all the best!
Another year has passed. It was swift, filled with both challenges and exciting events. For example, we held two major conferences — in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Still amazed by the number of cool indie developers currently working in Russia. Approximately 200 teams participated in our events collectively!
I hope that next year — or in a year or two, depending on their release dates — many of them will also make their mark on the international market.
Speaking specifically about editorial achievements, it was a very active year. Over 1800 pieces were published on App2Top over the 12 months. Far from just news.
For example, with varying success, we launched two new sections — "Investor/Publisher Wanted" and "Profession," and actively published "Round Tables."
Additionally, in collaboration with WN Academy, we started releasing a monthly podcast "What's with the Game," where we, along with professional developers, critique major releases.
However, we didn't manage to accomplish everything we wanted with the content. For instance, we postponed the salary survey and a major piece on the state of domestic media to 2025.
On the other hand, this year's results in terms of interviews are record-breaking. If we published 48 interviews in 2023, for 2024 we will have at least 60 pieces.
I highly recommend paying attention to these. Familiarizing yourself with them provides insight into what is happening across all segments of the Russian-speaking gaming industry.
