App Tracking Transparency (ATT) is a framework that iOS developers should use to request users’ permission to track personal data. The other day, he attracted the attention of the Federal Office for Combating Cartels in Germany.

The agency wants to check the ATT rules and make sure that Apple does not interfere with the work of third-party applications and does not harm competition on the platform.

Apple has promised to provide full support in the investigation.

In December 2021, an antitrust investigation against ATT was launched in Poland. Shortly before that, the French regulator announced that it would not prohibit Apple from promoting ATT, but would monitor the fair use of the framework.
