In February 2022, an American court sent Gary Bowser, a hacker from Team Xecuter, who sold tools for hacking Nintendo consoles, to prison. He was sentenced to 40 months in prison, but released earlier for good behavior.
In an interview with blogger Nick Moses Bowser said he is now awaiting deportation to Canada. After returning to his homeland, he will have to find a job in six months.
Bowser added that he also has to pay Nintendo a $10 million fine. According to him, the Japanese company can take 25-30% from his salary until the fine is repaid. During the time in prison, in which Bowser had a job, the hacker transferred only $175 to Nintendo.
