It has been reported about layoffs in the Cyprus-Georgian game studio Gameteq, whose core team was formed from employees of the Krasnodar office of Plarium in 2022.
This was reported to App2Top by an anonymous source, according to whom up to 50% of the company's entire staff, specializing in mobile 4X strategy games, might have lost their jobs.
Based on official data from four years ago, Gameteq had over 300 employees. From this, it can be assumed that the layoffs could have affected 150 people.
Another anonymous source related to the company noted that they had no information on mass layoffs. However, according to their information, Gameteq does not employ "300 people."
According to the company's LinkedIn profile, there have indeed been recent staffing changes. Out of 193 employees whose profiles are associated with Gameteq on the social network, 39 are seeking employment.
This includes specialists of various profiles. The "Open to work" status is displayed by both line specialists (programmers, VFX artists, community managers) and middle management (project managers and senior HRs).
