The French publisher Gameloft is going to liquidate a branch in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca. He will close the doors forever after 14 years of work.

Doru Supeala, Managing Director of SPOR, announced Gameloft's plans in his blog, with reference to one of Gameloft's employees Cluj. According to the employee, the office will close on July 10, 2024. He noted that it would be difficult for many people who were fired after the closure to find a new job, because they did not have time to work at Gameloft even for a year — last year the company actively expanded its staff.
Gameloft Romania PR manager Alexandru Tikaloiu confirmed to Supeal the information about the closure of Gameloft Cluj. He explained that the company had made the decision due to changing market conditions.
Several sources also told Supeal that Gameloft plans to completely curtail work in Romania and give the tasks performed in the country to employees from Asia. In this case, the Gameloft office in Bucharest will also be under threat of closure. Gameloft's PR manager did not comment on this information.
At the end of February, it became known that Gameloft had fired a total of 38 people from offices in Ukraine. At the same time, she carried out layoffs in Canada, but their scale was not disclosed. In March 2023, the company closed its office in Budapest, laying off more than 90 people.
