The Swedish company shared its plans as part of the financial report for the third quarter. As G5 Entertainment explained, there are many games in its portfolio, but only a few have become hits. At the same time, the development of projects that ultimately turn out to be insufficiently successful takes a disproportionate amount of time and money.
Now G5 is changing its strategy. She decided to thoroughly test game ideas on the market before moving on to development. Only if the potential is noticed in the idea, the company will form a development team and start creating a version for the softphone. If the game does not perform well in the softlonch, G5 will cancel it.
It is assumed that every year the G5 will “kill” 4-5 titles at the softlonch stage.
As for the results for the quarter, G5 revenue amounted to 359.9 million Swedish kronor ($33.2 million) — 10% more than a year ago. 73% of the amount was brought by the company’s own games. The main hit was Sherlock again, whose revenue in dollars increased by 104% year-on-year.
