A month ago, Keywords Studios terminated contracts with testers who worked on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and other BioWare games. As a result, the testers decided to hold a picket demanding to cancel the dismissals.
The testers claim that they were dismissed unfairly. They believe that one of the reasons for the dismissals was their creation of a trade union in Keywords Studios.
The picket will take place near the BioWare office in Edmonton. According to the Game Developer edition, BioWare itself, as well as Electronic Arts, tried to ban testers from striking here. The companies appealed to the Alberta Labor Relations Board, indicating that the dismissed worked remotely, which means they do not have the right to picket at the office. However, the Council did not agree with this argument.
