In June 2022, Epic Games released a free set of tools within Epic Online Services, which allowed developers to implement crossplay in PC games. Now the company has added support for console games to it.
Crossplay works seamlessly between Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. In the future, Epic Games is going to expand it to other platforms.
To add crossplay to their games, developers need to download the SDK for Epic Online Services, log in and configure the necessary parameters.
At the same time, Epic Games announced that the number of registered players in its ecosystem exceeded 750 million people.
