This was stated by Tim Sweeney in response to a user’s question on Twitter. The head of Epic Games clarified that the requirement will apply to new games. Games that have already been released in the Epic Games Store will not be required to provide mandatory support for “achievements”.
Recall that the first version of the achievement system in the Epic Games Store was launched in 2020. Then the developers completely managed the achievements and added them to the games themselves. The unified system appeared on the platform in October 2021.
