Epic Games has taken another step towards the metaverse. The head of the company, Tim Sweeny, said in an interview with FastCompany that by the end of 2022, an editor will appear in Fortnite that will provide players with “all the capabilities of the Unreal Engine” to create content.
Sweeney promised that Unreal Editor will be open to everyone and to work with him, you will not need to sign a contract with Epic Games.
Apparently, players will be able to monetize their content, but whether Epic Games will take a commission for this, and if so, what kind, is not explained.
