Epic Games has achieved a small victory in a legal standoff with Google. At the request of the developers, the court forbade the removal of the Bandcamp music platform from Google Play for using a third—party payment system in it – at least while the proceedings are ongoing.

Recall that on June 1, Bandcamp was supposed to switch to the Google payment system and start paying a 10% commission. This was required by the new rules of the store. Otherwise, the platform was threatened with removal from the store.

Now Bandcamp can use its payment system until the end of the trial. But she is obliged to transfer 10% of the revenue from sales in the Android version of the platform to a special escrow account. If Epic Games loses in court, then Google will get the money.
