Epic Games has filed a new appeal in the proceedings with Apple, this time accusing the corporation of a little hypocrisy. She recalled that one of the arguments that Apple used in court is related to iOS security. Allegedly, if you allow users to download applications not from the App Store, then fraudsters will be able to access personal data.
That’s just Apple allows downloading third-party applications on macOS and does not see this as a security threat. According to Epic Games, the corporation does not hide this possibility from users and mentions it in advertisements for Mac computers.
A year ago, during the trial, an Apple representative stated that there are “unacceptably many” malware on macOS devices due to the openness of the operating system. But the judge felt that he was exaggerating the problem.
