Electronic Arts (EA) has again faced criticism of loot boxes in FIFA Ultimate Team. At once, 15 groups involved in the protection of children’s rights appealed to the US authorities with a request to investigate the work of loot boxes in the game.
According to the statement, the developers are doing everything possible to force young gamers to spend money on cards with football players. Allegedly EA manipulates their desire to compete with friends. Human rights activists also pointed out that not even all adults, let alone children, can assess the chances of receiving valuable cards or estimate their value in real currency.
EA has not yet commented on this statement.
