Electronic Arts (EA) has released its report for the first quarter of fiscal 2025, which ended on June 30. All key metrics of the company have declined.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Compared to last year, EA's net revenue decreased by 14% to $1.66 billion.
- Net bookings fell by 20% to $1.26 billion. However, they were still higher than EA had anticipated. The company had expected to reach at best $1.25 billion.
- The lion's share of the bookings was from games-as-a-service. They generated $1.09 billion—7% less than a year ago.
- The largest platform in terms of bookings remained the console. It accounted for $677 million (-25%). Next were PC ($295 million, -21%) and mobile devices ($290 million, -4%).
- EA’s net income was $280 million. A decrease of 30%.
- The release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled for the third quarter of fiscal 2025, which is October-December 2024. Between January and March 2025, an unannounced game from EA’s partners is expected to be released.
