BioWare will no longer Support Star Wars MMO: The Old Republic and will focus on its main franchises — Dragon Age and Mass Effect. Electronic Arts company decided to transfer the game to Broadsword Online Games studio.

According to IGN, more than half of the developers who are currently working on Star Wars: The Old Republic, will also move to Broadsword Online Games. This is about 40 people. The rest of the developers will be given the opportunity to switch to other EA projects, and if they do not find a new place in the company, they will be fired.

Broadsword Online Games was founded in 2014 by Rob Denton, who was previously a vice president of BioWare and has already worked on Star Wars: The Old Republic. His studio has support for Ultima Online and Dark Age of Camelot.
