The South Korean company KRAFTON shared the success of the project in the framework of the financial report for 2022. She also noted that the average MAU of this version of PUBG has grown 1.6 times over the year.
How was the year for KRAFTON itself:
▪️annual revenue amounted to $1.47 billion (-1.7%);
The revenue of the publisher’s console business grew by 430.2% year—on-year – all thanks to the release of The Callisto Protocol;
▪️revenue from PC games increased by 16.7%;
Revenue from mobile games fell by 11.6%. One of the reasons is the ban of Battlegrounds Mobile India in India;
▪️KRAFTON’s net profit was $396 million (-3.8%).
After the release of the report, KRAFTON announced the launch of a studio in Canada, which will develop a game based on the series of novels The Bird The Drinks Tears. The studio was named KRAFTON Montreal. It was headed by Patrik Méthé, the former game director of Far Cry 5.
