"Dear fans. Yes, it's true. We at Piranha Bytes are in a difficult situation. There is a lot of news circulating about us now, and here is our answer: don't write us off!", — said Ruve. "We are doing our best to continue to create exciting worlds. Our hearts are beating for this. We are convinced that we will succeed. We are creative people, and we have no shortage of ideas. We stick together no matter what."

Ruwe added that Piranha Bytes is now looking for a partner to work with on the next project. The studio will share the news when it has something to tell.

Recall that rumors that Embracer Group, which controls the studio, closed it, appeared in early January. According to German media, the company initially had no intention of closing Piranha Bytes. Instead, she was looking for a buyer. However, in December 2023, Embracer Group began layoffs at Piranha Bytes, and as a result, by 2024, the studio allegedly almost ceased to exist - only a legal entity remained from it. Ruwe did not comment on specific points from the rumors.
