The studio Crystal Dynamics has conducted another round of layoffs. It reported that it has now reduced its workforce by 20 people, including both developers and operations team members.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

In its statement, Crystal Dynamics explained that it analyzes the studio's structure each time its games move to a new stage of development. This is to check whether the current team can meet long-term goals. Usually, if certain positions are found to be redundant, Crystal Dynamics simply transfers the affected employees to other roles, but this is not always possible. It is within this framework that the recent layoffs occurred.

Crystal Dynamics thanked the dismissed professionals and promised to assist them in finding new jobs.

Additionally, Crystal Dynamics emphasized that the layoffs will not affect the games Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst.

Notably, since 2025, Crystal Dynamics has been reducing its staff with notable regularity. Here is the timeline of mass layoffs at the studio over the past 12 months:

  • March 2025 — 17 people were laid off;
  • August 2025 — an unknown number of people were laid off;
  • November 2025 — 30 people were laid off;
  • March 2026 — 20 people were laid off.

Currently, the website of Crystal Dynamics states that it employs over 300 people, but this information has not been updated for several years.
