Yesterday, SEGA Corporation announced the restructuring of gaming divisions in Europe, which will affect, in particular, the Creative Assembly. Shortly after, Creative Assembly confirmed that layoffs were planned at the studio.

The studio wrote on X (Twitter) that it had made "an incredibly difficult decision to start a staff reduction consultation." She promised, if possible, to transfer employees who are facing dismissal to other positions. According to Creative Assembly, it wants to keep the cuts to a minimum.

Recall that as part of the restructuring, SEGA has already canceled the HYENAS multiplayer shooter, which Creative Assembly was working on.
