The Cyberspace Administration of China has launched a campaign to combat unscrupulous mobile applications. As part of it, the regulator wants to restore order at all stages of user contact with applications: from searching in stores to direct use of products.

Chinese officials pointed out that there are too many malicious and fraudulent applications in the stores right now. They also don’t like that some apps collect users’ personal data and abuse advertising.

According to SCMP, last year in China, an average of 2.5 thousand applications were removed from the stores every day. During the year, about 930 thousand applications stopped working in the country.
