The decision for a slight rebranding was made following a shareholders' meeting of CD PROJEKT. The majority of the group’s stockholders voted in favor of the name change.
As explained by CD PROJEKT, after the sale of the GOG store at the end of last year, game development and publishing have become its primary activities. The rebranding will help reflect this. Additionally, it will make it easier to promote their brand globally and hire employees without causing communication confusion—apparently, more people have heard of CD PROJEKT RED than just CD PROJEKT.
The official renaming will occur once the changes are included in the charter and registered in Poland's state company registry.
