There are 24 gaming companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange with a combined market value of over 24 billion zlotys ($6 billion). Almost half of this amount is attributed to just one company — CD PROJEKT.
Cyberpunk 2077
This information was shared in an interview with the portal Bankier by a representative of the exchange. According to him, the current market value of the creators of "The Witcher" and Cyberpunk 2077 is around 11 billion zlotys ($2.78 billion). This high capitalization has enabled CD PROJEKT to be included in the WIG 20 — an index of the 20 most valuable public companies in Poland. Notably, it's the only gaming company in this index, though its exact rank is not specified.
Additionally, CD PROJEKT accounts for 73% of the market value of companies in the purely gaming Polish index WIG-gry. The second-largest company in this index is 11 bit studios with a share of 9.3%. The third place among the most valuable Polish gaming companies in the index is Huuuge Games with a share of 4.3%.
The Warsaw Stock Exchange is not the only exchange in Poland. The country also has an alternative exchange for smaller companies called NewConnect. It’s reported that currently, one in five companies listed there is a gaming company. There are 73 of them. According to experts, the total market value of gaming companies on NewConnect exceeds 1 billion zlotys ($253 million).
