A month and a half ago, the Polish company group CD PROJEKT announced plans to slightly adjust its name. Now, the formalities are settled, and it has transformed into CD PROJEKT RED.

Cyberpunk 2077

The new name has already been entered into the Polish national company registry. It is also reflected in the group's charter.

In a message to investors, CD PROJEKT RED emphasized that only its name has changed, while the legal entity and all other details remain the same.

In June, CD PROJEKT RED explained the "rebranding" was aimed at avoiding confusion in communication. Previously, the name CD PROJEKT RED referred exclusively to the game development division, but likely so many people considered it the name of the entire company group that it proved easier for them to embrace this perception. Moreover, the name change is aimed at helping the creators of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 better convey to their audience that their main activities now are precisely game development and publishing. Before the sale of the GOG store, distribution was also among their activities.
