CD Projekt continues to develop the Witcher universe. The studio’s new project is a single card game Gwent: Rogue Mage with elements of roguelike. It was previously known as Project Golden Nekker.
Rogue Mage is positioned as a separate story game based on “Gwint“. The gameplay is based on similar card mechanics from the main CD Projekt KKI, but with an emphasis on the mechanics of races from “bagels”.
The project will tell about the adventures of the sorcerer Alzur, who is known as the creator of the first witchers. The complete passage will take about 30 hours.
The development of Rogue Mage is led by the game director of “Gwint” Vladimir Tortsov, who was previously also responsible for the esports direction in CD Projekt. According to him, the company wants to reach an audience that is interested in PvE battles and the plot.
Rogue Mage will be released on July 7 on PC, iOS and Android. The cost of the game is $9.99. The premium edition with maps and cosmetics for “Gwint” will cost $19.99. It is not known about additional monetization of the project, but the developers assure that there will be no P2W mechanic in the game.
