Recently it became known that layoffs took place in The Molasses Flood. CD PROJEKT representatives confirmed in a media commentary that the studio had indeed reduced some of its employees.

In total, 29 people lost their jobs: 21 in the USA and 8 in Poland.

CD PROJEKT explained that the reason for the layoffs was a change in the concept of Project Sirius — a multiplayer game in The Witcher universe, which The Molasses Flood is working on. Recall that in March, the company announced that it intends to restart the development of the project and write off the $9.76 million spent on it. A month and a half later, CD PROJEKT announced that it had come up with a new concept for Project Sirius (but did not tell what it was) and refused to write off $5.2 million.
