Capcom reported results for April-December 2024, once again indicating a drop in sales and profits.

Monster Hunter Wilds

  • Capcom's net sales for the nine months amounted to ¥88.8 billion ($572 million). Compared to the same period in 2023, they decreased by 16.3%.
  • Operating profit also declined—by 35% to ¥31 billion ($199.7 million). Net profit fell by 33.4% to ¥23 billion ($148.5 million).
  • As explained in several previous reports, the Japanese company attributed the revenue decline to the lack of major releases. In 2023, Capcom released Street Fighter 6, which sold better than new titles from April-December 2024.
  • Capcom still believes it will achieve record revenue for the entire fiscal year ending March 31, 2025. They are banking on the success of Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled for release in a month. At the time of reporting, the game tops the list of most wished-for upcoming projects on Steam.
  • From April to December 2024, Capcom sold 30.5 million game copies—2 million fewer than the previous year. The company's physical game sales accounted for only 8.8%, with the rest being digital sales.
