Capcom has announced a collaboration with Japan's Kindai University. Its students will have the opportunity to take a course where they will learn about game development on the RE Engine—the engine behind Devil May Cry 5, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and the latest Resident Evil games.

The course will be short. It starts on September 26 and will last one and a half weeks. Only 30 students will be able to attend. It is expected that during this time they will be able to develop a small game each.
Capcom hopes that its course will strengthen the relationship between Japanese gaming companies and universities. Ultimately, this will positively impact the gaming industry as a whole, as the number of skilled developers increases.
According to Capcom, it's the first time the company has made its engine available outside of the company. Whether it plans other similar initiatives is not disclosed.
