Capcom released its financial report for the first half of the 2024 fiscal year, which ended on September 30. Key data were selected.

Monster Hunter Wilds

  • Capcom's net sales for six months amounted to 56.4 billion yen ($367 million)—a decrease of 24.7% compared to the same period last year.
  • Operating profit fell by 38.7% year-on-year to 20.7 billion yen ($134.7 million), while net income decreased by 39.6% to 15.2 billion yen ($99 million).
  • Capcom attributed the decline in key indicators to the lack of major releases in the first half of the fiscal year. Major growth is expected in the next half-year with the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds.
  • Due to their bet on the new installment of the popular series, the Japanese publisher still aims to record a rise in operating profit for the full fiscal year—for the 12th consecutive time. The company estimates it will reach a record 64 billion yen ($416 million).
  • In total, Capcom sold over 20 million game copies in the first half-year—a decline of 11.4% year-on-year. Of these, 54% were digital sales on PC, and 40% were on consoles. The share of physical copies fell to 6%.
  • The release of Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for February 28, 2025. Interest in the IP is further evidenced by the fact that previous titles in the series occupy the top four spots in Capcom's list of best-selling games for the first half-year, including Monster Hunter: World (1.7 million copies in six months), Iceborne (1.4 million), and Rise (1.3 million).
