On October 28, the world release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II took place. A weekend later, the first information about sales appeared. No specific figures, unfortunately. However, even without them, it is clear that the shooter is doing very well at the start.
So:
Sony said that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II showed the most successful start of sales in the history of Call of Duty on the PlayStation Store digital platform, taking into account both pre-orders and first-day sales.
Starting sales of the game in British retail were 40% better than last year’s Call of Duty: Vanguard and 9% better than Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which was released in 2020 (however, they were 61% worse than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, released in 2019, which may be explained by a change in the consumer paradigm, then retail played a more significant role than the figure in relation to such releases).
▫️On Steam, as we already wrote today, the game topped the weekly top sales. In addition, its online reached the mark of 263 thousand people (currently 170 thousand users are playing the game). This is at the level of indicators of the free-play competitive shooter Apex Legends.
