The company SMP ESports, owned by Boris Rotenberg, decided to develop its own games in the genre of sports simulators. Football and hockey simulators will be the first.

SMP ESports CEO Georgy Gnutov told the Kommersant newspaper that the development will start in the next three years. He noted that SMP ESports does not want to limit itself to specific sports and plans to “create any games based on the domestic engine” in the future.

A Kommersant source close to SMP ESports added that over time, Rotenberg’s company “intends to replace foreign sports simulators” like FIFA and NHL from Electronic Arts. According to him, at the first stage, the company will invest 300 million rubles in the development of games.

Recall that in early April it became known that another company owned by Rotenberg called SMP Racing is going to develop a “Russian Assetto Corsa”.
