On August 23, BioWare CEO Gary McKay announced the reorganization of the studio. As part of it, 50 people will leave BioWare.

McKay explained that the reorganization will help BioWare become more flexible and focused. Dismissed employees can try to find work in other divisions of Electronic Arts (EA), however, according to McKay, it is unlikely that everyone will be able to get a job in the company. Nevertheless, BioWare promises to support them.

The head of BioWare noted that despite the layoffs, the studio continues to actively work on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and the next Mass Effect.

In a comment to the VentureBeat portal, an EA representative added that BioWare also did not renew the contract with the outsourcing company Keywords Studios – they could not agree on the terms of cooperation. Previously, testers from Keywords Studios, who worked on BioWare games, joined a trade union.
